Thinking about the Future
As a middle schooler almost high schooler I wouldn’t really think about worrying on what my career would be or how my future would look. The future. It scary to think that whatever our actions outcomes are we will have to live in. To think that your career decides wether you are successful or happy in life.
An article by Allen Grove seven reasons are explained as to how middle school prepares and has an affect in college. The one reason that stuck out to me was the last one. “Explore and Enjoy”, it simply is what it is titled that middle school is a time for you to think about your hobbies, habits and your abilities and explore them.
Possibilities
There are many things to take into consideration when looking at careers in the future. It can simply be depending on the amount of money that you would want to make in the future or it can be based on your abilities and interests. I’m not very sure as to what career I would want in the future but, I have gotten some suggestions from my family. Also I have some ideas as to what I would want to do. Somethings I’ve been told I would be good at would be a lawyer (which interests me). I would want to have a career in which I would be able to travel and not only have one place in which I am able to do my work in.
Taking an assessment in order to know possible careers seems weird. Awkward, especially if you don’t get suggested a career that you would want to do. The suggested jobs from the assessment were mainly focused on business and finance, tourism and recreation, marketing sales as well as public services (mainly towards law and justice). Most of the jobs needed a lot of time in education. Even though I know I want to go to University I’m not sure if I would see myself having to go to school for many years and finally have a job a lot later in life. I want to do something where I get to learn more about the world and live my life as I’m doing my job and not having to dedicate my whole life to it.
Steps Needed to Take
In order for dreams to come reality there are always stairways. Many different decisions and actions need to be taken to become what you want. I know that I would have to go to a university depended on the major I would want to have and career. I’ve always been interested int going to Yale, UCLA, Princeton, Harvard and USD. But, I know that it is important to know which on is suitable for me education wise as well as a good environment. Something else that is important for a career is knowing how your life would be if you would take that path. Knowing possible jobs and how your life would probably be. What are going to be the most important things to you?
