Goals After High School

Seems weird to be planning what you would want to do four years from now. However, in order for things to become a reality you have to think about it becoming reality. After every school year comes summer. During the summer I would want to travel and hopefully take pictures if I had learned how to use a camera by then. If not then that might be something to do during summer as well. Then go to University. Very simple yet very important for the future and my life itself. During my time at university I would like to have either taken a semester at sea or study abroad. Even though I would hope to have this before this stage in life I would want to find what my passion is. Within all this I hope I am enjoying myself and the people I would currently be surrounding myself with.
College

College or University might not be something everyone is interested in. It might be the cost or where it is but, somewhere there is a place ideal for most people that are up for this challenge. After reading different articles as to why and why not to go to college I’ve found some of the best reasons why to go to college. Number one you are able to learn more skills. This may include the ability to be independent or outgoing. Which might be the case if you’re staying in a dorm or going out to parties. Another reason is that you will be more likely to have a good and stable job. By this I mean that people would want you for a certain position and you would be a wanted worker. This takes me to my third reason that you will probably get paid more. Since you will have more education and skills to be good at what you’re doing. Lastly that you will be testing out if what you like what you will be doing in the future. While taking classes you can see if it truly interests you and if you would like to specialize in that.
College Cost

It’s not surprising that just like everything else in this world college isn’t free. Some people don’t have the chance to go to college since they aren’t able to pay it. There are many ways that the country could help support this issue. Something that they can think about is the amount of money that goes into colleges. In the United States there are many states that spend more money or prisoners than college students. In an article by the Washington Post author Christopher Ingraham states “But spending on prisons has nearly doubled.” After saying that there hasn’t been much of an increase as to how much money is funded into colleges since 1990. Colleges are important and a motivation for many. Wether it is to have a good future, parents proud or simply to educate themselves. It is important for students that want to have the opportunity to have a good future. This can help the issue of having to pay more money for prisoners. Think about it if people are doing well they will be more likely to stay motivated instead of getting themself into legal issues. This isn’t completely accurate but, it is a possibility that would benefit the generations to come. So I think that a way that the country could help make colleges better are the fundings and spendings on them.
