Advice
There are a lot of things that I wish I would’ve known. Different motivational quotes and sayings that are very true. One of the things I later on learned was that you’re never going to please yourself and others. Don’t be insecure. Believe me when I say it no one ever pays attention to what you’re doing. So wear what you want (if it doesn’t go against the uniform). Ten years from know these will all be memories either locked in a box that is full of treasures or in the trash. So u decide what kind of memories you want to make. Attempt to make new friends. Even though you might want to stay with your friend group start getting used to not always having classes with them and having to talk to someone who’s name you didn’t know (i doubt that you don’t know someone since the school is small).Another piece of advice would be to take risks. During middle school it would have been helpful if I would not have been so quiet and be more outgoing.
Motivation
Motivation is key to success or at least i’ve heard that a couple of times. Sometimes it will but, not always. The only thing that I truly know about motivation is that the best source of it is yourself. That seems difficult to do so but, when doing homework i’ve found it better when I strive to do my best then comparing myself to others. Sure it might be helpful to be motivated by the progress of others but don’t relay on it. Like an owner relays on a leash to keep their dog from running away, take away that leash and the dog is gone. So don’t be motivated by something that can be taken so easily. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t want to have a role model or someone you want to be but, do your work because you wan’t to do it not because your parents are telling you to. I know I kinda contradicted myself however, nothing new I do that a lot.
Progress
In middle school a lot of writing is done wether it is in english, spanish, science or history. You will later either be proud or surprised that you thought it was good at the moment. This is from experience my book for english yea that is for sure one of my weakest pieces of writing during 8th grade. On the other hand I have my erosion write-up and my spanish sonnet to be proud of. Over the school year i’ve been able to practice and get better at different abilities to have stronger writing pieces. Some of these being the capability of writing various types of poem. Another thing is being able to analyze things through not only different perspective but, also with a closer vision. Being able to analyze even the small details and clues to understand a deeper meaning. Context clues were another big thing. I was able to realize when to add context clues when referring to another reading. Things that I would want to get better at is grammar and expanding my vocabulary. As well as in spanish and being able to utilize terms when explaining something in math and science.
